You're probably familiar with the fact that Amazon is kind of a big deal in the e-commerce world, but did you know just how much of a powerhouse this company really is? Say it with me—approximately 250 million active customers. And that's not even the whole picture! Somewhere in 2015, they overtook Walmart as the most valuable U.S. retailer by market capitalization. They employ over 340,000 people, and their net income is hovering fairly close to $2.500 billion.
Considering the Amazon deals, the unmatched longevity of the company, the excellent customer service, fast delivery times and reasonable prices, it's not hard to see why Amazon became such a popular online shopping destination. One thing a lot of people don't know about Amazon, however, is how easy it is to find some great deals on it. Well, that's what this article is all about! Here are eight easy ways to save a lot of money using coupons for Amazon:
1. Save up to 70% or more with Amazon Coupons
Using an Amazon discount coupon is a piece of cake. All you have to do is visit Amazon's coupon section (see the first link in the list above) select a category you're interested in, find a product you like and click on the "Clip Coupon" button. Your discount will be applied on your first subscription or at the check-out. There are numerous categories to choose from, including Health & Personal Care, Home & Kitchen, Beauty, Electronics and so on. New coupon offers are released fairly often, but some promo codes are reserved for Amazon Prime members.
You will find coupons that are specifically targeted to certain products. You won’t find any store-wide Amazon promo codes for anything—for all products. But you will find deals for specific products or categories. For example: an Amazon kindle promo code, an Amazon book coupon, an Amazon shoe coupon, an Amazon beauty promo code, Amazon electronics coupons, Amazon dress offers, and many deals for watches, mobile phones, laptops, tv, clothing, jewelry, fashion, furniture and more. How much can you expect to save with these coupons? Well, that depends on the product you're interested in. For example, I'm a big tech guy, and I just couldn't resist using a coupon that let me save 50% on Startech's USB32DPPRO USB 3.0 video adapter. I also noticed a 20% discount on DE Dancing Water Speakers and a 15% discount on a Gamdias Eros V2 gaming headset, but those will have to wait a couple of days.
2. Save up to 15% with Subscribe & Save
The Subscribe & Save system lets you subscribe to items you're already buying on a frequent basis (such as toothpaste and paper towels) by setting up an auto-delivery window. If you have at least five items delivered at the exact same time, you become eligible for a big 15% discount. The main difference between this system and your standard newspaper subscription is that with Subscribe & Save you get up to 15% discount. You don’t need an Amazon voucher code for this—it applies automatically every time you set up a subscription.
As you might imagine, that 15% discount you get by subscribing to at least five items is key to this whole system. However, what to do if you just don't want to subscribe to that many items? Simple: subscribe to some cheap (or filler) products in order to get to the five-item threshold. Even if you don't need some of these items, that 15% discount is by far the best way to maximize your savings by using this system. Just keep in mind that all your products must have the same delivery date, and that you can set your delivery cycle to range from one to six months.
You can subscribe to items in all kinds of categories, such as Grocery, Baby Care & Food and Personal Care. Personally, I wouldn't mind having a Dove Beauty Bar delivered to my house every month.
Amazon also lets you combine Subscribe & Save coupons for additional discounts. With these coupons, you can purchase select Subscribe & Save items with a discount that sits on top of the standard 15% discount. The catch? These coupons are single-time use only, so the discount applies only to the first month, not in future deliveries.
Another important thing to consider with the Subscribe & Save savings plan is that while the discount is locked at 5% or 15% (depending on the number of items you have subscribed to), the price you pay on each cycle may not be the same. This is because prices change on Amazon products. It’s likely that a product you subscribed to had an initial price of $10, but a month later the price rose to $15. This price change will be reflected in the next payment within your Subscribe and Save plan. In other words, you should keep an eye out for your items suddenly rising in price. Some products can have wild fluctuations in price, so it pays to be alert. Of course, the price may go down, as well.
So, is Subscribe & Save worth it? Depends on the items you're ordering and the amount of research you're willing to put in. If you're taking advantage of the coupons I've mentioned, you should be able to save quite a lot of money during your online shopping escapades. Other than that, all you have to do is look at the benefits of this program:
- Discounted prices: You get to enjoy up to 15% discount, and for diapers a 20% discount.
- Free shipping: You thought that free shipping is only for Prime Members? Not at all! As a Subscribe and Save member you also don’t pay for shipping.
- Changeable delivery dates: You control what date you receive the products.
- Coupons and promo codes: You can stack a on top of the Subscribe and Save discount and enjoy bigger savings the first time your product ships.
3. How to Get Free 2-Day Shipping
Getting free 2-day shipping on Amazon is easier than you might think—you just have to sign up for a 30-day free Prime trial. Everyone has access to this trial. You don’t need an Amazon prime promo code. Of course, the free shipping is just one of many benefits of becoming a Prime card member. This little credit card gives you access to Prime Video (thousands of movies and shows, including the Amazon Originals), Prime Music (over two million songs) and Prime Reading (more than a thousand books, comics and magazines). What’s more, a Prime Visa card will let you use those cash back benefits in restaurants, drugstores and gas stations. No earning caps or annual fees are involved.
4. How to Get $5 Amazon Credit Instantly
This is also known as Amazon promotional code for first time users. Amazon respects its customers, especially the ones who spend a lot of money on the website. If you are a first time user of an Amazon Gift Card, or you just own one and you have never loaded it with more than $100, you are eligible for a $5 credit—with no strings attached! All you have to do is log into your Amazon account, add $100 or more to your Gift Card balance (if you don't already have that much) and reload the page. This will automatically redeem your $5 promotional credit. No promo codes are necessary, so the whole process is disarmingly simple. Oh, and there is no expiration date for using the balance in your Gift Card.

5. How to Get Free Shipping Without Prime
Even if you don't have Amazon Prime, you can still enjoy free shipping. And you don’t need a promo code for Amazon. Here is how: While you're shopping, keep an eye out for any "Free Shipping" messages in the product details section. If you fill up your cart with at least $25 worth of eligible items, you will be able to reach the free shipping order minimum. Once that's over with, simply change your shipping preferences to "Group my items into as few shipments as possible" and choose "Free Shipping" as your shipping speed.
A surprising number of Amazon products also come with a message that says "Free Shipping on orders over $35." As a general rule, these items are a bit bigger and/or slightly more expensive than the ones I've mentioned above. Since we're talking about regular free shipping, the items should arrive somewhere between five and eight days.
6. How to Save $25 on Amazon Fresh
As many of you doubtlessly already know, Amazon Fresh is a grocery pickup and delivery service geared towards Prime members. At this moment, the service is available in Berlin, London, Tokyo and a whole bunch of U.S. states. Thanks to a feature called Amazon Fresh Deals, a lot of groceries can be bought at surprisingly low prices. For example, you can have PRE's rib eye steak or Tyson's chicken tenderloins at a 25% discount. Also, you can save an additional $25 by using the "FRESH25" coupon at the check-out. Keep in mind that this offer is only available for first-time orders of $75 or more.
If you're interested in checking out Amazon Fresh, you can do it for free for a month, as Amazon is currently running a promotion: As long as you order $40 or more worth of groceries, the shipping is free. After those 30 days have passed, the service will set you back $15 per month. The groceries will arrive at your doorstep in well-structured green boxes, with enough ice packs to keep them as fresh as possible.
7. How to Get 50% Off Your Next Purchase
If you need a good reason to consider getting an Amazon Rewards Visa card, how about that $50 Gift Card you receive immediately upon the approval? These Gold Box Deals are also known as Lightning Deals, and they can be found throughout all of Amazon.com. Every Lightning Deal can only be claimed once per customer, and they're usually available only until all the promotional discounts are claimed. These promotions go by very quickly, and the discounts on offer can often be straight-up sensational.
